Dr. Jerry Weichman Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and adolescent specialist as well as an author, speaker and parenting expert. His clinical practice at Hoag Hospital’s Neurosciences Institute in Newport Beach, California provides a window on contemporary teen and pre-teen behavior. Dr. Andrea Brokaw is a licensed psychologist specializing in working with children, adolescents, and families.  She provides individual and family therapy, parenting, as well as psychological diagnostic and testing services for children and adolescents.

She has experience and training in treating young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, disruptive behaviors, academic difficulties, trauma, substance abuse, eating disorders, ADHD, social difficulties, and bipolar disorder. Dr. Rebecca Garfinkle’s mission is to provide compassionate neurologic care for children and teens. She diagnoses ADHD, autism, epilepsy, headaches, concussions, movement disorders and epilepsy and offers expert continuing treatment.

Board-certified in neurology, Rebecca earned her undergraduate degree in physiological sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles and received her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medical Biological Sciences. She honed her clinical skills and continued her education in Honolulu; Fairbanks, Alaska; Washington D.C., and San Antonio, where she worked with military veterans who had suffered traumatic brain injuries.

A San Diego native, she is happy to be raising her two young children in warm weather. She and her husband enjoy outdoor activities and a variety of cuisines.

Dr. Harpreet Kaur is a licensed psychologist specializing in individual and group treatment of children, adolescents and families. She has extensive training and experience in treating a range of psychological disorders including anxiety, depression, trauma and selective mutism. She creates a collaborative environment and tailors her treatment plan to meet the needs of her patients and families using a number of evidenced based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, Dr. Kaur has been trained by the National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute in the use of hypnosis for children and adolescents.

Dr. Kaur received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital Colorado in the Medical Day Treatment Program in Aurora, CO where she provided individual and group treatment to medically complex children and adolescents. Dr. Palm is a graduate of Fordham University where he received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Lindsey Sterling is a licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related developmental disorders. She has extensive experience performing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for youth and adults with suspected ASD.

Much of Dr. Sterling’s research and specialized training has focused on understanding and treating comorbid disorders, such as anxiety and depression, among individuals with ASD. She has published numerous research papers on the topic of ASD and comorbid anxiety and depression. Dr. Sterling has been working in the field of ASD for almost twenty years and is passionate about helping individuals and their families cope with the challenges associated with having ASD and related developmental disorders.

Dr. Sterling earned her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology from UCLA and her Masters degree and Ph.D. from the University of Washington. She completed her Clinical Internship in Developmental Disabilities at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where she worked with adults with developmental disabilities and children with a range of psychiatric disorders, particularly anxiety.

During her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Department of Psychiatry, UCLA, Dr. Sterling pursued specialized training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) targeting anxiety in youth with ASD. Following her postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Sterling served on the clinical faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at UCLA and as a Staff Psychologist at the UCLA Child and Adult Neurodevelopmental Clinic. She then served as Interim Professor and Director of the Autism Center at Claremont McKenna College and as a tenure-track Professor in the Department of Psychology at California State University Long Beach.
